'United States of Tara' Cancels Showtime

The hit series “United States Of Tara” cancels Showtime. Toni Collete outstanding lead actress in Comedy Series suffering from numerous Personalities will be finished when it ends its

third-season run in June. The Daily Beast's Jace Lacob reports. The season finale, set to air on June 20th, will be the final period of the series.

Through eight weeks "Tara" has been averaging 326,000 viewers in its original Monday telecasts and 1.9 million viewers when video-on-demand, DVR playback and repeat showings are included. That's 30% behind season two totals. 


Over the show's three-year run, it's received a certain acclaim from critics and viewers. Toni Collette winning the 2009 Emmy for wonderful Comedy Series. "Tara" was also a vehicle in which Showtime was able to receive Emmy recognition. Collette won for lead comedy actress in her first year of eligibility and was nominated again last year.
